A previous recall was issued for 4.2 million vehicles last year.

As noted by the AP, Toyota announced plans to recall 2.3 million vehicles in the U.S. on Thursday. The recall comes after reports of crashes linked to pedals becoming stuck and causing vehicles to accelerate suddenly.
