WATCH : Travis Pastrana sets new world record for longest rally car jump



It was a record-setting jump to ring in the New Year.

26-Year old stuntman Travis Pastrana took a 250-foot flying leap off of the Long Beach Pier and landed safely onto the pages of the record books.

It's the longest jump ever in a car. The daredevil flew off the pier, over open water landing on a floating barge in the harbor shattering the previous world record of 171-feet.

Pastrana is an X-Games gold medalist and star of a reality show featuring extreme sports.
