2009 Honda City makes European debut at Turkish Motor Show (EU)


The all-new Honda City sedan will make its European debut at this October's Istanbul Motor Show in Turkey. Honda’s new supermini sedan, which shares several design elements with the upcoming Insight Hybrid is based on the platform of the new Jazz/Fit. Depending on the market, the City will be offered with a 1.5 litre i-VTEC developing 120bhp or/and a 1.4 litre i-VTEC making 100bhp, both are mated to a 5-speed manual or an automatic gearbox with the option of steering wheel mounted paddles.

With the smaller engine, the new City completes the benchmark of 0-62 mph sprint in 11.8 seconds for the manual version while the automatic version hits 62mph in 14.7 seconds, almost three seconds slower. In Turkey, sales of the City will be begin in January 2009 where it will be offered exclusively with the 1.4 litre engine.
