Renault Clio gets re-touché

Updated: 23/12/08

Renault has also kept quiet about the facelifted Clio. Caught in the same location as the 2009 Citroen C3, the revised Clio will take hints off the Laguna, new Megane and the forthcoming Scenic. Headlamps, bonnet and radiator grille will be revised to make way for the badge in between the head-light clusters. At the rear, reshaped tail-lights and a modified rear bumper with reflectors will complete the look. The interior will receive some styling highlights alongside a revised dashboard.

The current Clio has been on the market since 2005. Only this year, sales in the UK started dropping, partially due to Renault UK changing specifications every season otherwise it makes the top 10 selling cars list. The newcomer will rival the forthcoming VW Polo, Citroen C3, Proton Savvy, Mitsubishi Colt, Kia Rio, Hyundai i20 and Fiat Grande Punto facelift.

A Geneva autoshow debut next March seems like the likely location for its world debut with sales commencing Summer 2009.
